CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State volleyball team will be back on the road this weekend, traveling to Milwaukee for a two-match series on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10.
This marks the third weekend of Horizon League play for the Vikings, and the second weekend on the road. Entering the weekend, both teams will be looking for their first #HLVB wins of the year.
Cleveland State continues to lead the league in service aces, averaging 1.95 aces per set and combining for 113 total aces on the year. Individually,
Jazen DeBina leads all #HLVB players averaging 0.52 service aces per set, and has a total of 27 aces on the year.
DeBina has tallied at least one service ace in all but three matches this season, with a season-best six aces coming against Coppin State during non-league play.
Vayda Delventhal also ranks in the top-five among league players for the Vikings, ranking fifth averaging 4.05 digs per set. Last time out, Delventhal recorded back-to-back 20-dig performances, and now has six 20-dig efforts on the season. Delventhal also enters the seventh week of the season tracking down 1,000 career digs, currently sitting at 914.
Offensively, the Vikings have been led by
Bryn VanVleet who is averaging 2.83 kills per set, while
Julia Jozefov has a team-best .299 hitting percentage on the year.
JeriLynn Koehler moved up to a tie for eighth place in the CSU Career Record Book following last weekend's matches, as she currently has 61 total solo blocks on her career. With just four more solo blocks, Koehler would become just the eighth Viking all-time with 65+ solo blocks.

Cleveland State will return home for a three-match homestand, hosting Youngstown State on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17 along with Oakland on Thursday, October 22.
