Cleveland State opens the 2026 campaign on the road at Denver with a 2 p.m. faceoff from Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium in Denver, Colorado.
 
Last Season Look Back
The 2025 season saw the Vikings go 4-10 overall and 2-5 in their inaugural NEC season. The Green and White earned their first-ever NEC win in their opener at Wagner on March 15 by a score of 14-8. Three individual season records were set: Justin Dalum for saves (176), Robbie Stewart for ground balls (96), and faceoff wins (174).
 
A strong classroom effort by Cleveland State saw 42 players receive NEC Academic Honor Roll recognition and 21 get named to the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll. For the fourth straight year, the Vikings were named Team Academic Award by the USILA, along with three players earning Scholar All-American honors.
 
About Denver
Denver is receiving votes in the first coaches' poll and is coming off a 7-7 season. Cody Malawsky was named to the 2026 BIG East Preseason Team after putting up 32 points on 18 goals and 14 assists last season.
 
All-Time Series
This will be the fifth meeting between these two teams, with Denver winning all four previous games. All matchups have been played on the West Coast. The last matchup was in 2020, with the Vikings falling 10-6.

• This is the tenth season of CSU lacrosse and the seventh under coach German.
• Cleveland State is 44-73 all-time and 27-47 under coach German.
• The Vikings are 1-9 in season openers, with the only win coming in 2024 at VMI in overtime, 12-11.

• Cleveland State has never played a game in the month of January.
• The earliest opener in program history was in 2020 on Feb. 1 against Marquette at home.

 
Stewart Looks to Shine in Senior Year

• Robbie Stewart begins his final season in the Green and White.
• Stewart is third all-time in faceoff wins with 290, trailing Danny Tesler's mark of 478.
• Stewart is third in career ground balls with 150, trailing Tesler's record of 265.

 
Protect The Cage Dalum

• Justin Dalum is fourth in career saves with 207, trailing Cameron Logan's mark of 328.

 
NEC Preseason Poll

• Robert Morris was picked to win the NEC after receiving six first-place votes.
• LIU received the other two first-place tallies to put them in second.
• Cleveland State came in the sixth slot.

• Rock Entertainment Sports Network, a joint venture between Rock Entertainment Group and Gray Media, will broadcast all six lacrosse games.
• Four of the six games will air live, with the other two on tape.
