DENVER, Colo – Cleveland State (0-1) fell in the 2026 season opener at Denver (1-0), 20-1, on Saturday afternoon.
Denver tallied eight goals in the first quarter and five in the second quarter to lead 13-0 at halftime. The Pioneers tacked on five more goals in the third to lead 18-0.
Will Adair netted an unassisted goal for the only Green and White goal with 11:16 to go in the game. Denver answered back with the final two goals of the game to win, 20-1.
Jason Hilton led the Vikings with six shots, including three on target.
Robbie Stewart won seven faceoffs and scooped up four ground balls.
Seven different players forced a turnover in the game.
Justin Dalum started in goal, playing the first half, accumulating four saves.
Oliver Vanyo made three saves in the second half.
The Vikings remain on the road to battle No. 10 Ohio State on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 3 p.m.
