YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team closed out play at their season opening tournament Saturday, picking up six singles wins and two doubles wins at the Horizon League Individual Championship.
All six of Cleveland State's singles wins came in backdraw matches, including
Jenna Redmile,
Laura Tapia,
Marta Rodriguez, and
Anna Mancino picking up straight-set wins.
The two doubles wins on the day for the Vikings came from
Ella Franz/
Sofia Sergieva and Redmile/Rodriguez, who both earned wins in a pair of backdraw contests.
Cleveland State will now take the week off from competition, returning to action at the annual Viking Invitational inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion October 10-12.
