TEMPE, Ariz. – For the 13
th straight season the Cleveland State women's tennis team has been honored by the ITA for their academic success, as the Vikings picked up ITA All-Academic Team honors, while all seven players were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
As a team, the Vikings posted a grade-point average of 3.83 for the 2025-26 academic year, earning ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 20
th time over the last 23 seasons.
Graduate
Ella Franz earned Scholar-Athlete accolades for the fourth time in her career, while
Jenna Redmile and
Melliz Petkova Mustafa both earned the accolade for the second straight season.
In addition, freshmen
Leah Geisz,
Anna Mancino,
Sofia Sergieva, and
Laura Tapia also earned Scholar-Athlete honors.
Geisz and Mancino both posted 4.0s on the year, while Tapia notched a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above.
