The Vikings begin their longest homestand of the year with three consecutive games on Krenzler Field beginning with Youngstown State on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m.

Last Game Out
Cleveland State picked up its second straight league draw at Oakland on Sunday, 1-1, in rainy conditions. The first half went scoreless before the Golden Grizzlies opened the scoring in the 63rd minute on a cross. However, the Green and White equalized just three minutes later when the goalkeeper was unable to control the ball, and Tanji Sarver finished it off.

The Penguins make the short trip to Krenzler Field with a 2-8-0 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in league matches. Youngstown State is 0-7-0 on the road this season and is coming off a 2-0 loss at home to Milwaukee on Sunday.

The Jags are 1-7-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play with a game prior against Wright State on Thursday evening. IU Indy has had six different scorers, all with one apiece. Lilly Ma is tops with two assists. Sarah Bambrick has started seven of the nine games in goal with 20 saves.
 
Series History With IU Indy
This will be the 16th meeting between these two teams, with IU Indy holding an 8-5-2 advantage. Last season, the Jags won at home 3-2, and these two teams haven't played in Cleveland since 2018, when the Vikings won 3-1.
 
The last game, which was supposed to take place on Krenzler Field, became a forfeit win for the Green and White in 2021.

Mayra Sesmas has 15 career strikes, which is tied with Kathryn Ramicone for the fourth most all-time. The senior is presently six back of tying Vickie Havas' mark of 21, which was set from 2012-15.

Head Coach Mark Sappington
Sappington is in his second season with the Green and White after being named the fourth head coach in program history before last season. In his first season, the team went 2-14-1 overall and 2-8-0 in the league.
 
Preseason Poll
The Cleveland State women's soccer team has been chosen to finish eleventh in the Horizon League for the 2025 season, as voted on by the league coaches.
 
Milwaukee took the No. 1 spot after receiving 10 first-place votes for 120 points. Northern Kentucky was second with 105 points, and Detroit Mercy was third with the final first-place vote for 98 points. The Vikings slotted in the final spot with 27 points.
