Muncie, IN-The Cleveland State men's golf team sits in ninth place in the team standings after 36 holes of play at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational. The Vikings finished the day at 6-over 566 as a team. Host Ball State leads the field at 24-under 536.
Brody Simms continued his strong play once again finishing in red figures through two rounds. Simms is 4-under par for the tournament after rounds of 67-69. Simms posted six birdies on the day with four coming in his first round of the day. He added two more in the second round on back-to-back holes on no. 3 and 4. Simms is among a group of four players tied for 12
th and sits seven shots back of Ball State's Luke Johnson who leads the field at 11-under par.
Trace Gibson is tied for 31
st at 1-over par after rounds of 70-71. Gibson totaled six birdies on the day, including four in his second 18 holes.
Ryan Dinan is tied for 46
th place at 4-over par. Dinan posted a 4-over 74 in the first round and rebounded with an even par 70 in the second round. Dinan totaled seven birdies as well as a hole out eagle on the seventh hole of his second round.
Dillon Pendergast sits at 5-over par and in a tie for 54
th. Pendergast posted scores of 73-72 on day one.
Dominik Cosic is tied for 63
rd at 6-over par after rounds of 74-72.
Ben Scheeff is in 83
rd place at 15-over par playing as an individual.
