INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State golf team picked up a trio of postseason honors Thursday, with
Brody Simms picking up the Horizon League Sportsmanship Award and a spot on the All-League First Team, while
Dillon Pendergast was named to the All-League Second Team.
This marks the third straight postseason honor for Simms, while it's the first all-league accolade for Pendergast. Simms also becomes the first Viking to earn the Sportsmanship Award, which was first awarded during the 2024 campaign.
Simms earned his spot on the All-League First Team after finishing fourth at the Horizon League Championship, finishing with a 1-over par total score. The fourth place finish marked Simms' fifth top-five finish of the season.
During the 2025-26 campaign, Simms notched a 71.2 scoring average, marking a program record for single-season scoring average. Simms now has three of the top five marks in program history.
Pendergast picked up All-League Second Team honors after placing tied for 24
th at the Horizon League Championship. For the season, Pendergast had four top-25 finishes, including a pair of top-five finishes in the fall.
Through nine tournaments played during the 2025-26 campaign, Pendergast was Cleveland State's top finisher twice, while placing in the top-two six times.
For the season, Pendergast had a 73.1 scoring average, which ranks 11
th in the CSU single-season record book.
