TEMPE, Ariz. – For the 12
th straight season the Cleveland State women's tennis team has been honored by the ITA for their academic success, as the Vikings picked up ITA All-Academic Team honors, while six players were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
As a team, the Vikings posted a grade-point average of 3.72 for the 2024-25 academic year, earning ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 19
th time over the last 22 seasons.
Individually,
Filippa Frogner and
Sima Heren both picked up their fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, while
Ella Franz earned Scholar-Athlete accolades for the third time. In addition,
Jenna Redmile,
Melliz Petkova Mustafa and
Tereze Vevere also earned Scholar-Athlete distinction.
Frogner and Heren both recorded 4.00 GPAs during the Fall and Spring semesters, while Petkova Mustafa, Redmile and Vevere all notched one 4.00 semester on the year.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above.
