Rhine-Ruhr, Germany-Rayllen Prafil-Capaccio will represent Cleveland State at the 2025 World University Games this week in Germany. Prafil-Capaccio, a rising junior at Cleveland State, will be representing her home country of Argentina.
The World University Games is an annual competition held each summer bringing together student-athletes from over 100 countries over 11 days who will compete for medals in 18 different sports. The event is one of the largest in the world and presents a tremendous opportunity for young athletes to compete on the world stage.
The 2025 World University Games stand for a young and modern event with a festival atmosphere: diverse, loud and fun. It will be characterized by rich contrasts and animated visitors, with venues filled and many new friendships formed. The event is centered around the transformative power of sport, culture and science – and in bringing change and innovation through enthusiastic engagement.
The fencing competition is scheduled to begin on Thursday, July 17. The competition will run for six days with medal events scheduled for each day through July 22. Action can be seen live on fisu.tv throughout the tournament.
