EDINBORO, Pa. – Cleveland State suffered a heart breaking 25-17 loss to Edinboro on Thursday evening as the home team rallied with back-to-back falls to end the night.
The match this evening started at 197-pounds and saw the Green and White strike first as
Joey Lyons picked up a 4-1 decision to lead 3-0. No. 28
Daniel Bucknavich followed with a dominant 10-0 victory at 285-pounds to lead 7-0.
Ben Aranda extended the margin to 10-0 behind a 10-3 decision at 125-pounds. Edinboro answered back with a major decision at 133-pounds and a fall at 141-pounds to tie the match at ten-apiece.
The Scots claimed their first lead out of the intermission, 13-10, with a 4-2 decision at 149-pounds. Cleveland State retied the match at 13-13 as
Douglas Terry picked up a 6-4 win at 157-pounds.
Tate Gieser put the Green and White back on top, 17-13, with a crucial 12-2 major decision at 165-pounds. However, Edinboro ended the night with consecutive falls to win the match, 25-17.
The Vikings will face Lock Haven in a neutral site match on Thursday, February 13 at 7 p.m. The contest will take place at Franklin Area High School in Franklin, Pa., the high school of head coach
Josh Moore.
