Hilton Head, SC-The Cleveland State men's golf team finished seventh in the opening spring tournament of the 2025 schedule as the Vikings closed with a 14-over par 302 in the final round to finish with an 898 team total at the Wexford Intercollegiate. Xavier took home first place with an 863 total.
Andrew Kaye finished tied for fifth in the individual standings, his best finish of the season so far. Kaye closed with a 3-over 75 in the third round and finished at 1-under par for the tournament. Kaye finished four shots back of Xavier's Ray Filter who won the event at 5-under. Kaye was one of eight players in the field who finished in red numbers.
Mason Frazier also placed in the top 30 for the Vikings finishing with a T-29 mark at 8-over par. Frazier posted a 79 in the final round.
Rounding out the Viking lineup,
Dillon Pendergast finished tied for 46
th at 11-over par,
Brody Simms finished T-53 at 13-over and
Dominik Cosic finished in 77
th place at 20-over par.
Cleveland State returns to the course in roughly one month when the Vikings travel to Eastern Kentucky for the EKU Invitational scheduled for March 16-17.
