INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After helping Cleveland State women's basketball to a 3-0 week, redshirt-junior
Jada Leonard as been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This marks the first weekly honor of the season for Leonard and the Vikings.
Last week, Leonard helped the Vikings to a trio of wins over Northern Kentucky, College of Charleston and Puerto Rico-Bayamon, with Cleveland State improving to 12-2 overall this season and 2-1 in #HLWBB play.
Leonard averaged 17.3 points, 5.7 assists and 2.7 steals per game on the week, shooting 43-percent from the field and 42-percent from behind-the-arc.
Against Northern Kentucky, Leonard finished with 14 points and a season-high seven assists, while she recorded her third 20-point game of the season with 25 points and six assists against Puerto Rico-Bayamon in the non-league finale.
Leonard combined for eight steals on the week – including four against Puerto Rico-Bayamon – and continued her streak of recording at least one steal in every game this season. For the year, Leonard has 48 total steals, ranking fifth among Division I players.
