Cleveland State, the regular season champion and top overall seed, will face fifth-seed Robert Morris in the Horizon League semifinals on Krenzler Field tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Horizon League Awards
After winning the program's second Horizon League Regular Season championship, the Cleveland State men's soccer team garnered numerous all-league honors, including four special awards and eight all-league honors.

Sinisa Ubiparipovic was named Coach of the Year,
Uros Jevtic named Defensive Player of the Year,
Ryan Poling named Goalkeeper of the Year, and
Uzman Ramees named Freshman of the Year.

Jevtic, Poling,
Peleg Armendariz, and
Tom Mertz were named first team,
Matteo Correia and
Lennart Heck to the second team, and Ramees, along with
Ognjen Bozovic, to the third team.

A Win Would…
Put the Vikings in their third Horizon League Championship game under head coach
Sinisa Ubiparipovic…Give Cleveland State a chance to win its third league title, with the previous two coming in 2012 and 2022.

This Season's Meeting
Cleveland State used a header by
Tom Mertz off a corner from
Lennart Heck with one second remaining in regulation to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw at Robert Morris on Saturday, Oct. 11.

The first half saw the Green and White defense hold the Colonials to zero shots, while firing off a pair. However, the Colonials struck first in the 85th minute on Jack Bejarano's third goal of the year.

The Vikings kept fighting until the final whistle as the team scrambled with less than ten seconds left to get a corner in the air and eventually into the back of the net before time expired.

Cleveland State holds a 15-7-1 advantage in the series, with the lone draw coming this season. The Vikings are unbeaten at home in the last four meetings, with the last loss coming in 2015, 4-1. Last year at home, the Green and White came out on top, 3-2.

Last Game Out
The Vikings had their program tying 12-game unbeaten streak ended by Green Bay in the regular season finale at home, 3-2. Following a scoreless first half, Green Bay jump-started an exhilarating 20-minute span with the game's first goal in the 59th minute.
The Vikings then equalized in the 78th minute as
Tom Mertz finished off a pair of passes from
Djordje Petrovic and
Adrian Bravo-Sanchez.

The Phoenix needed just two minutes to regain the lead off a through ball. However, one minute later, the Green and White retied the game as
Matteo Correia finished off a through ball from Petrovic. Green Bay again responded quickly with the game-winner just a minute later on Luke Nicholson's finish on the back post off a cross.
