CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings (2-6, 2-4) fell to NIU (4-3, 4-1) 29-14 in a MAC dual on Friday evening. The evening began with a kids tunnel and ended with post-match autographs.
NIU won the opening five matches of the night to lead 23-0 at the halftime break.
Tate Geiser got the Vikings on the board with a 4-1 sudden victory at 165-pounds to trail 23-3.
The Huskies answered back with a 4-2 decision to make it 26-3. A huge 18-0 shutout by
JR Reed at 184-pounds trimmed the margin to 26-8.
Following an NIU 4-1 sudden victory at 197-pounds, No. 28 Bucknavich ended the night with a pin in 1:57 as the Vikings fell 29-14.
The Vikings head to Edinboro on Thursday, Feb. 6 for a 7 p.m. dual match.
