CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's tennis head coach
Frank Polito rounded out his incoming class for the 2025-26 season, as the duo of Anna Mancino (Westlake, Ohio) and Sofia Sergieva (Sofia, Bulgaria) are set to join the Vikings in the fall.
Both will join Cleveland State with four years of eligibility remaining.
Mancino comes to Cleveland State following a prep career at Magnificat High School, where she helped the team to a State Runner-Up finish as a freshman. A two-time All-Ohio honoree, Mancino was a three-time state qualifier and sectional and district champion in doubles and singles.
As student council president, Mancino was named the John Harlow Girls Tennis Award winner for sportsmanship in the state of Ohio, while also earning NEO Sportsmanship honors.
"I've had my eye on Anna since her freshman year of high school, and she truly embodies everything Cleveland State women's tennis stands for. She plays a big game with an even bigger upside, and I can't wait to see her reach her full potential in our program," Polito said.
Sergieva joins the Vikings following a junior career in which she ranked as high as fourth in Bulgaria for doubles and 14
th for singles. Throughout her prep career, Sergieva posted a trio of doubles final appearances at the Bulgarian National Tournament for Women, Bulgarian Tournament U18 and ITF J30 Diana Cup.
"Sofia is a hidden gem – an explosive talent with limitless potential. She brings the kind of power and drive that fits seamlessly into our system and culture, making her an exciting addition to our team," Polito said.
Academically, Mancino will pursue a degree in business while Sofia plans to study property management.
