The Cleveland State women's basketball team will close out its current two-game roadswing on Saturday, January 18, traveling to IU Indy for a 2:00 p.m. contest. Entering the weekend, the Vikings stand at 14-4 overall this season and 6-2 in Horizon League play, while IU Indy is currently 5-13 on the year and 4-5 in #HLWBB action.Â

THE CLEVELAND STATE/IU INDY SERIES
Saturday's game will mark the 25th meeting between the two teams, with the series knotted at 12-12. Cleveland State has won five straight matchups entering Saturday's contest, including an 82-49 victory earlier this season.Â
VIKINGS IN #HLWBB PLAY
Cleveland State enters Saturday's contest with a 6-2 record in Horizon League play this season, currently sitting in third place in the #HLWBB standings. Continuing the sixth week of league action, the Vikings are one of three teams with six or more #HLWBB wins on the year.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Saturday's game at IU Indy marks the fourth of five road games for the Vikings during the month of January, and the 12th contest away from home on the season. So far this year, the Vikings stand at 8-3 when playing on the road, including a 3-1 mark in #HLWBB contests.
PERDUE TALLIES CAREER-HIGH 32 POINTS AT RMU

Mickayla Perdue recorded a career-high 32 points at RMU, marking her second 30-point game of the season and 11th 20-point performance of the year. Perdue, who notched her 32 points on 11-for-18 shooting - including five three-pointers - marked her second 20+ point effort over the last three games and her fifth in Horizon League play.Â
…PERDUE CONTINUES TO LEAD #HLWBB IN SCORING
Entering Saturday's contest at IU Indy,
Mickayla Perdue continues to lead the league in scoring, averaging 20.9 points per game as the only #HLWBB player to average 20.0+ ppg on the year. Through 18 games played, Perdue has combined for 377 total points, and has recorded 11 20-point performances on the season. Nationally, Perdue is tied for 10th with her 377 total points, while she is one of just two #HLWBB players to eclipse the 300-point mark so far this year.
LEO TALLIES DOUBLE-DOUBLE AT RMU
Last time out,
Destiny Leo recorded her second double-double of the season, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win at RMU. Leo, who is averaging 5.9 rebounds per game on the year, tallied 10+ boards for the third time this season and the first time in #HLWBB play. Through 18 games played, Leo ranks ninth among league players with her 5.9 rebounds per game, making her one of three Vikings to rank in the top-10 in the category.Â
…LEO CLOSING IN ON 1,800 CAREER POINTS
With her 14 points at RMU,
Destiny Leo now has 1,764 total points, and is closing in on becoming the fifth Viking all-time with 1,800 career points. Leo, who currently ranks fifth on the CSU Scoring List, needs just 36 more points to reach the milestone and would be the first Viking to do so since Shalonda Winton during the 2011-12 season. So far this year, Leo is averaging 11.5 points per game and has recorded double-digit points in four of the last five games.Â
REISMA EFFICIENT FROM THE FIELD
Jordana Reisma continues to be one of the most efficient shooters among Division I players, entering Saturday's contest at IU Indy with a .687 field goal percentage on the year. Reisma, who currently leads all Division I players in field goal percentage, is shooting 112-for-163 on the year, while she currently sits at the top of the CSU Career Record Book with a .592 clip (334-564) for her career.Â
GUERREIRO GRABS DOUBLE-DIGIT BOARDS AT RMU
Last time out,
Sara Guerreiro posted her fourth double-digit rebounding game of the season, finishing with 10 boards at RMU. For the season, Guerreiro has combined for a team-best 144 rebounds and leads the Horizon League averaging 8.0 rebounds per game. In addition, Guerreiro also has a team-best 82 assists on the year, making her the only #HLWBB player to rank in the top-five in both rebounding and assists (3rd-4.6 apg).
CLEVELAND STATE ON THE BOARDS
The Vikings continue to be the top rebounding team in the league, averaging 39.0 boards per game through the first 18 games played. Cleveland State also holds a league-best +8.0 rebounding margin, and has outrebounded its opponent 15 times so far this year. The Vikings have combined for 702 rebounds on the season, including 521 defensive boards which is tops in the league.Â
…AND FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Through 18 games played this season, the Vikings rank 11th nationally averaging 16.50 free throws made per game. For the season, Cleveland State has converted a league-best 297 free throws, including 20+ free throws during four games this year. The Vikings have shot 50-percent or better during seven games so far this season, including twice during #HLWBB play (at Wright State, at Detroit Mercy). Individually, five Vikings are shooting 45-percent or better from the field on the year;

HEAD COACH CHRIS KIELSMEIER
The Vikings will be under the direction of seventh-year head coach
Chris Kielsmeier, who currently owns a career head coaching record of 555-179. At Cleveland State, Kielsmeier owns a record of 139-63, with his 100th victory as a Viking coming in a 95-41 decision over Chicago State last season. Under his guidance, Cleveland State has posted four 20-win seasons, including a program-record 30 wins during the 2023-24 campaign.
