SETTING THE SCENE
The Cleveland State women's basketball team will return to action on Wednesday, January 15, traveling to Robert Morris for an 11:00 a.m. matchup. Entering Wednesday's contest, the Vikings stand at 13-4 overall this season and 5-2 in Horizon League play, while RMU is currently 5-11 on the year and 1-6 in #HLWBB action.

THE CLEVELAND STATE/ROBERT MORRIS SERIES
Wednesday's game will mark the 13th meeting between the two teams, with Cleveland State holding a 7-5 edge in the all-time series. As Horizon League opponents, Cleveland State owns a 5-2 record against the Colonials, including four straight entering Wednesday's contest.
 
VIKINGS IN #HLWBB PLAY
Cleveland State enters Wednesday's contest with a 5-2 record in Horizon League play this season, currently sitting in third place in the #HLWBB standings. Entering the sixth week of league action, the Vikings are one of four teams with five or more #HLWBB wins on the year.
 
CLEVELAND STATE IN EARLY TIPOFFS
Wednesday's game will mark the third of five contests this season that will be tipping off before Noon for the Vikings, and the first of two designated Kids Day games. So far this season, Cleveland State owns a 2-0 record in early tipoff games, picking up wins against Louisiana (11:00 am local tip) and Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (11:30 am local tip) in non-league play.
 
REISMA TIES CAREER-HIGH AGAINST PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Last time out, Jordana Reisma recorded a game-high 25 points against Purdue Fort Wayne, marking her third 20-point game of the season and tying her career-high in the category. Reisma went 11-for-18 from the field on the game, with the 11 made field goals also tying her career-best mark. So far this season, Reisma has recorded double-digit points in all but two games, with her other 20-point performances coming against Ohio Dominican (24 pts) and Bethune-Cookman (25 pts).
 
…REISMA EFFICIENT FROM THE FIELD
Jordana Reisma continues to be one of the most efficient shooters among Division I players, entering Wednesday's contest at RMU with a .690 field goal percentage on the year. Reisma, who ranks second among Division I players in field goal percentage, is shooting 107-for-155 on the year, while she currently sits at the top of the CSU Career Record Book with a .592 clip (329-556) for her career.
 
LEO MOVES INTO FIFTH PLACE ON CSU SCORING LIST
After finishing with 18 points - on six three-pointers - against Purdue Fort Wayne last time out, Destiny Leo moved into fifth place on the CSU Scoring List with 1,750 career points. Leo, who is one of just five Vikings all-time with 1,750+ points, is now 55 points shy of moving into fourth place on the all-time scoring list. So far this season, Leo is averaging 10.9 points per game and has recorded double-digit points in three of the last four games.
 
…ADDS TO CAREER THREE-POINT RECORD
With her six three-pointers against the Mastodons, Destiny Leo added to her career three-point total, entering Wednesday's contest with a CSU record 274 total shots from behind-the-arc. Leo, who tied her season-high with the six three-pointers, has now recorded five+ three-pointers 14 times on her career. Through 110 games played, Leo sits at the top of the CSU Career Record Book with a .394 three-point field goal percentage (274-695).
 
GUERREIRO JUST SHY OF DOUBLE-DOUBLE AGAINST MASTODONS
Last time out, Sara Guerreiro was just shy of her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with six points, nine rebounds and nine assists against Purdue Fort Wayne. Guerreiro, who is the only #HLWBB player to rank in the top-five in both rebounding (T-1; 7.9) and assists (3rd; 4.8), leads the Vikings in both categories. Through 17 games played, Guerreiro has combined for 134 total boards and 81 assists, and has recorded double-digit rebounds three times and 5+ assists during 10 games.
 
PERDUE CONTINUES TO LEAD #HLWBB IN SCORING
Entering Wednesday's contest at RMU, Mickayla Perdue continues to lead the league in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game as the only #HLWBB player to average 20.0+ ppg on the year. Through 17 games played, Perdue has combined for 345 total points, and has recorded 10 20-point performances on the season. Nationally, Perdue ranks 15th with her 345 total points, while she is one of just two #HLWBB players to eclipse the 300-point mark so far this year.
 
CLEVELAND STATE ON THE BOARDS
The Vikings enter the week as the top rebounding team in the league, averaging 39.1 boards per game through the first 17 games played. Cleveland State also holds a league-best +8.1 rebounding margin, and has outrebounded its opponent 14 times so far this year. The Vikings have combined for 665 rebounds on the season, including 494 defensive boards which is tops in the league.
 
…AND FROM THE FREE THROW LINE
Through 17 games played this season, the Vikings rank 10th nationally averaging 16.53 free throws made per game. For the season, Cleveland State has converted a league-best 281 free throws, including 20+ free throws during four games this year. As a team, the Vikings are shooting at a .755 clip from the free throw line on the year, with the quartet of Mickayla Perdue (84-101), Sara Guerreiro (46-52), Destiny Leo (33-41), and Macey Fegan (16-19) all shooting 80-percent or better.

As a team, Cleveland State has had one of the more efficient offenses this season, leading the Horizon League and ranking 11th among Division I teams with a .483 clip from the field on the year. The Vikings have shot 50-percent or better during seven games so far this season, including twice during #HLWBB play (at Wright State, at Detroit Mercy). Individually, five Vikings are shooting 45-percent or better from the field on the year; Jordana Reisma (.690), Mya Moore (.525), Sara Guerreiro (.486), Macey Fegan (.473), and Filippa Goula (.458).
 
VIKINGS IN THE RANKINGS
Cleveland State currently sits 15th in the latest edition of the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top-25 Poll. The Vikings are one of two Horizon League teams to be in the top-25, as Green Bay currently ranks 23rd. In addition, Purdue Fort Wayne is receiving votes.
 
HEAD COACH CHRIS KIELSMEIER
The Vikings will be under the direction of seventh-year head coach Chris Kielsmeier, who currently owns a career head coaching record of 554-179. At Cleveland State, Kielsmeier owns a record of 138-63, with his 100th victory as a Viking coming in a 95-41 decision over Chicago State last season. Under his guidance, Cleveland State has posted four 20-win seasons, including a program-record 30 wins during the 2023-24 campaign.
