Opening Whistle
Cleveland State plays its first home Horizon League game tomorrow evening against Detroit. The Vikings are winless in their last four contests at 0-3-1.
Last Game Out
The Green and White hosted No. 2 Pitt on Tuesday evening, falling to the Panthers 4-0. The second-ranked team tallied a pair of goals in each half.
About the Titans
Detroit has also been struggling as of late, dropping its previous four games to stand at 1-5-0 overall and 0-1-0 in league games. Detroit is coming off its #HLMSOC opener at Green Bay on Saturday, falling 5-1.
The Titans have ten goals on the year and are led by Guerschom Sylvain with three. Casey McCarthy and Josh Copeland are right behind with two apiece. The squad has used three different keepers this year; most recently, Viktor Sulc started against the Phoenix, making two saves. Quinn Tews has played in four games with three starts, accumulating eight saves.
Series History
This will be the 37th meeting all-time between these two programs, with Detroit holding a 19-13-4 advantage. Last season, the Vikings fell on the road, 3-2. The last meeting in Cleveland was in 2021, with the Green and White coming out on top, 2-0.
Alumni Weekend
Sinisa Ubipariovic and the Vikings will kick off their annual Alumni Weekend with an Alumni Friends Social on Friday, October 11, at 6:30 PM in Ohio City, courtesy of the CSU Alumni Association. All men's soccer alumni are welcome to attend and receive a campus tour of the recently renovated athletic spaces as well as a tour of Krenzler Field.
On Saturday, October 12, the men's soccer team invites fans and supporters to their home match vs. IU-Indy at 7:00 PM. At halftime of the match, alumni in attendance will be recognized on the field.

Ubiparipovic Background
Sinisa Ubiparipovic enters his sixth year as the head men's soccer coach at Cleveland State University. In his five seasons, the Vikings are 35-33-11 overall (.513 winning percentage) and 22-16-7 (.567 winning percentage) in league play.
Preseason Poll
Cleveland State was picked to finish second in the Horizon League Preseason Poll. Oakland is slotted in the top spot with three first-place votes for 75 total points. The Vikings are second with a first-place vote for 73 points. Green Bay received three first-place votes and IU Indianapolis got one to tie each other for third place.
