Cleveland State University swimming & diving signed Alex Cucu from Parma, Ohio. Cucu swam at Normandy High School and SwimUnited.

Cucu was a two-time All-American and four-time state qualifier. As a senior, he finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Cucu was a winter and summer junior national qualifier for his club team.

Cucu is the son of Anca and Mircea Cucu and will be majoring in finance.
