About the Boilermakers
Purdue is 4-1 in dual matches and is coming off the Clif Keen Invitational, in which No. 1 Matt Ramos won the 125-pound gold medal and No. 15 Joey Blaze placed sixth at 157-pounds. In duals, Purdue has won two straight and is 3-0 on the road.
In addition, the squad has six ranked wrestlers, with Stoney Buell tied for the third most major decisions in the NCAA and Ramos leading the country in tech falls with nine.
Last Time Out
Cleveland State had one champion and five placers at the annual CSU Open on Saturday inside Woodling Gymnasium.
Nick Molchak won the 133-pound championship after going 4-0 while
Daniel Bucknavich was the runner-up at 285-pounds.
Gavin Ricketts (174 Pounds) placed fourth and
Ronald Dimmerling (174 Pounds) was one spot back. Â
Reese Stephen (157 Pounds) and
Xander Myers (197 Pounds) finished sixth.
Series History
This will be the 13th meeting between these two squads, with Purdue holding a 9-2-1 advantage. These two teams last met in West Lafayette in 2022, with Purdue winning 23-12, and the year prior in Cleveland, the Boilermakers came out on top, 39-7.

Cleveland State was chosen to finish tenth in the MAC for the 2024-25 season after receiving 48 points. Central Michigan claimed the top spot after receiving 106 points, Lock Haven was second with 104.5 points, and George Mason was third with 103 points.
Success off the Mat
The Vikings secured a Top 3 GPA in the country for a fourth straight year and second straight with the second highest. Last season the Green and White posted a 3.54 GPA which was the highest cumulative in program history. The team led the MAC with 11 Academic honorees and six NWCA Scholar Athletes.
