Cleveland State Volleyball Adds Six For Upcoming 2025 Campaign

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State head volleyball coach Chuck Voss announced the addition of six players for the upcoming 2025 season, with Isabella Gibbons (Wheaton, Ill.), Madisyn Green (LaGrange, Ky.), Magaly Lemus (Holland, Mich.), Danica McArthur (Avon Lake, Ohio), Sophie Skidmore (Hudson, Ohio), and Bryn VanVleet (Richmond, Ind.) all set to join the Vikings this fall.
 
ISABELLA GIBBONS | SETTER
Gibbons comes to Cleveland State following a prep career at Wheaton North High School, where she accumulated 2,000+ assists on her career. Gibbons was a two-time AVCA Phenom Watch List member, All-Conference honoree and was named to the JVA Watch List.
 
Academically, Gibbons was a multi-time member of the Gold Honor Roll, and is undecided on a major.
 
MADISYN GREEN | DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST
Green joins the Vikings following a four-year career at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, where she was a two-time state, region and district All-Tournament Team honoree, combining for 1,600+ career digs and 150+ career service aces. Green was part of a high school team that won four district titles, three regional titles and finished second in the state twice. 
 
Off the court, Green was a 2024 AAU Academic All-American and three-time Academic All-State, and plans to major in biology, pre-med.
 
MAGALY LEMUS | MIDDLE BLOCKER/RIGHT SIDE
Lemus comes to Cleveland State following a prep career at West Ottawa High School, where she earned All-Conference, All-Area and All-Region honors. As a two-year team captain, Lemus will finish her prep career with a school record for blocks, currently owning 297 career blocks to go along with 500+ kills.
 
Academically, Lemus plans to pursue a degree in elementary education.
 
DANICA McARTHUR | DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST
McArthur joins the Vikings following a standout career at Avon Lake High School, where she led the team to a Southwest Conference and District championship as a junior. As an All-District, All-County and All-Conference honoree, McArthur finished with 1,200+ digs during her prep career, along with 92 service aces.
 
In the classroom, McArthur has earned Ohio Athletics and Lorain County Academic honors along with Cum Laude Awards, and plans to major in business.
 
SOPHIE SKIDMORE | OUTSIDE HITTER
Skidmore joins the Vikings following a four-year career at Hudson, where she was part of the 2023 district championship team as an All-District and All-State honoree. Skidmore finished her prep career holding school records for most kills in a game and in a single season, along with ranking first in the Suburban League for kills.
 
In the classroom, Skidmore plans on majoring in health sciences.
 
BRYN VANVLEET | OUTSIDE HITTER
VanVleet comes to Cleveland State from Seton Catholic High School where she was part of two sectional championship teams and one regional championship squad. Individually, VanVleet was the 2024 PAAC Player of the Year, while also earning First Team All-PAAC honors three times and All-District and All-State accolades. VanVleet finished her high school career with 1,700+ career kills on a .305 hitting percentage, setting a school record for kills in a match and in a single season.
 
Academically, VanVleet plans to pursue a degree in business, and is a National Honors Society and All-State Academic honoree.
