Dayton, OH-The Cleveland State men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Dayton Flyer Invitational at NCR Country Club's South Course. The Vikings finished at 33-over par for the 54-hole event and closed with a 16-over par 300 in the final round. Kent State won the event with a 15-over par team total.
Andrew Kaye recorded a top ten finish closing the tournament in a tie for eighth place at 3-over par. Kaye closed with a 4-over 75 in the final round. Kaye excelled on NCR's par-4's finishing at 1-over par combined which was the second-best total in the field. Kaye also finished tied for third in the field with 37 total pars.
Brody Simms and
Dillon Pendergast each finished tied for 33
rd overall at 11-over par. Simms finished with a 77 in the final round and Pendergast closed with a 73, his lowest score of the week.
Mason Frazier was close behind finishing at 13-over for the tournament. Frazier finished with a 75 in the final round.
Dominik Cosic finished tied for 67
th at 23-over par and
Ben Scheeff finished at 40-over par in 79
th place playing as an individual.
This concludes the fall schedule for the Vikings, who will take a break from competition during the winter season before returning to the course this spring. The Spring 2025 schedule will be announced at a later date.
