Dayton, OH-The Cleveland State men's golf team sits in eighth place after the opening day of the Dayton Flyer Invitational. Cleveland State finished the day at 20-over par. Cleveland State posted a 13-over par 297 in round one and are 7-over in round two, which was suspended due to darkness and will be resumed tomorrow morning. Kent State leads the team race at even par.
Andrew Kaye is tied for second after a strong opening day. Kaye posted a 1-under 70 in the opening round and sits at even par with one hole remaining in his second round. Kaye carded a birdie on his opening hole of the day, the first, and added another on the tenth hole. He made 15 pars on his way to finishing in red numbers in the first round. He has three birdies and three bogeys on his card in the second round with the par-4 18
th still to play. Kent State's Isaiah Ibit leads the field at 4-under also with one hole to play in his second round.
Brody Simms is tied for 28
th at 5-over par. Simms carded an even par round of 71 in the first 18 holes, posting two birdies and two bogeys. Simms is 5-over in his second round and will have two holes to play when play resumes tomorrow morning.
Dillion Pendergast is 7-over for the tournament and tied for 33
rd place. Pendergast carded a 6-over 77 in the opening round and is 1-under through 11 holes of his second round.
Mason Frazier is tied for 50
th at 9-over par. Frazier finished with an 8-over 79 in the first round and is 1-over par with one hole remaining in round two.
Dominik Cosic sits in a tie for 69
th place at 16-over. Cosic finished with an 81 in the first round and is 6-over par with one hole remaining in the second round.
Ben Scheeff, playing as an individual, is tied for 78
th at 23-over par. Scheeff posted a 76 in the first round and is currently 18-over with one hole left in his second round.
