Cleveland State Closes Action at Midwest Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Cleveland State University fencing team concluded action in the Midwest Fencing Conference Championships Sunday with the team portion of the competition at Ohio State's French Field House.

The Vikings won four of the six matches contested but lost the bout due to having to forfeit three bouts. Senior Sarah Mok won all three of her matches to help the Viking cause.

The Vikings took 12th in the men's saber competition, falling to Northwestern, 5-1. Sophomore Vincenzo Trovato picked up the lone point for CSU.

Cleveland State tied for 20th in the final team standings with 320 points.
