Vikings Sweep Horizon League Weekly Honors
Earlier this week Cleveland State swept the Horizon League weekly awards, as Victoria Bensimon was named the Singles Player of the Week and Victoria Bensimon and Jana Schober were named the Doubles Team of the Week. Bensimon picked up her weekly honor after going 2-0 at No. 2 singles on the weekend, while the doubles team of Bensimon and Schober picked up a No. 1 doubles win against Oberlin.

Bensimon Continues To Climb CSU Wins List
Senior Victoria Bensimon continues to add to her career win total, entering the weekend with 63 career singles wins. Bensimon, who picked up a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (8) victory against Western Michigan and a 6-0, 6-4 win against Oberlin last weekend, moved into seventh place on the CSU Wins List with her two victories and is closing in on becoming just the seventh Viking all-time to record 70 career wins. Entering Friday's match against Case Western, Bensimon has won three straight singles matches and six of her last seven.

…Gbadamosi Cracks Top-10
After posting a perfect 2-0 singles record last weekend, senior Princess Gbadamosi cracked the top-10 on the CSU Singles Wins List, currently ranking 10th with 58 career victories. Gbadamosi picked up her first singles win of the spring in a 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (8) decision against Western Michigan, and followed that up with a 6-2, 6-0 win against Oberlin. Gbadamosi is now just one win shy of moving into ninth place on the list, and two wins shy of joining the exclusive 60-win club.

Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion
Cleveland State will be playing at home for the second straight weekend – playing its third and fourth home matches of a 10-match home slate. For the second straight year – and first complete year – the Vikings are calling the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion home. The MMTP, which opened March 9, 2016, features six temperature-controlled indoor courts. With the opening of the MMTP, Cleveland State became the first Horizon League team to have an on-campus indoor facility.

Head Coach Brian Etzkin
Brian Etzkin is in his 15th year with the Vikings, owning a 187-179 dual match record. During his tenure, Etzkin has guided Cleveland State to a pair of Horizon League Regular Season titles (2014 & 2016), and three Horizon League Championship Match appearances.

Scouting The Spartans
Friday's match will mark the spring-opener for Case Western, while Cleveland State marks the only Division I opponent for the Spartans. Case Western – a Division III school – enters the spring season ranked No. 20 in the most recent Oracle/ITA Rankings.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams under head coach Brian Etzkin, with Cleveland State owning a perfect 3-0 record against the Spartans.

Scouting The Purple Eagles
Niagara enters the week with a 1-2 record on the season, and will host Detroit prior to Saturday's contest against the Vikings. Niagara's lone win of the season came against Daemen College during the fall season.

This will be the eighth meeting between the two teams over the last 14 seasons, with Cleveland State owning a 5-2 advantage in the overall series. The two teams last met during the 2009-10 season, with Cleveland State earning a 7-0 victory.
