FULL RESULTS

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleveland State University fencing team closed action at Ohio State's Elite Invitational Duals Sunday inside French Field House.

The CSU men dropped decisions to North Carolina (4-23) and NJIT (2-25) while the Viking women also fell to the Tar Heels (5-19) and Highlanders (5-22) and also came up short against Cornell (2-25).

A day after he led the team with four wins, freshman Declan Forth posted an even 3-3 mark at the saber spot Sunday to lead the Viking men. Freshman Zachary Clark, sophomore Burton Hirschman and junior Adam Mack each picked up a win on the day.

Senior Sarah Mok had a strong day for the Cleveland State women, posting a 6-3 mark in the foil discipline. Senior Cameil Ruffing picked up a win against each CSU opponent on the day while freshman Emma Hartlaub posted a pair of wins against North Carolina.

Cleveland State is now scheduled to be out of competition until 2018 when it hosts the CSU Duals and the John Szent-Kiraly Open on the third weekend of January.
