EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team close out the month of February Sunday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 contest at Michigan State.

"This was another tough match for us today, once again we had our chances, but we just didn't take advantage of them," associate head coach Frank Polito said. "Michigan State was the better team today, and they played the bigger points better. Hopefully we will be able to learn from the matches this weekend, and improve throughout practice this week and get back to action next week."

Cleveland State's best performance during doubles play came at the top of the lineup, as the No. 1 duo of Isabella Spindler and Aleksandra Golawska were having a tough battle in a 5-4 contest before their match was halted after Michigan State picked up the doubles point.

During singles play, the Vikings had impressive efforts from Spindler at No. 2 singles and Victoria Bensimon at the No. 4 spot. Spindler picked up a 6-4 win in the first set, but then dropped the second set 6-3 and the tiebreaker, 7-3. Bensimon was also able to pick up a win in the first set (6-1), before dropping the next two sets, 6-2, 7-6 (3).

The Vikings will finally return home on Wednesday, March 9, when they face Akron at 3:00 p.m. This match is slated to be the first match played in the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion – Cleveland State's new on-campus indoor tennis facility.
