GAME PREVIEW: 
• Cleveland State continues its opening week of Horizon League play when the Vikings play at Detroit on Monday (Jan. 4) at 7:30 pm.
• Saturday's game will be broadcast on AM 1420 WHK and AM 1320 WOBL with Al Pawlowski providing the play-by-play.
• CSU is 5-9 overall and 0-1 in the Horizon League, dropping the League opener, 86-68, at Oakland on Saturday (Jan. 2).
• Detroit is 7-5 overall this year and 1-0 in the Horizon League after a 96-87 win over Youngstown State on Saturday.
• The Titans are undefeated at home this year (7-0), while CSU is 1-4 on the road.

THE DETROIT SERIES: 
• Detroit leads the all-time series with CSU, 39-21, but the Vikings have won five of the last seven meetings.
• CSU took two of three from Detroit last year, including a 70-53 win in the second round of the Horizon League Championship.
• The Vikings are 4-24 all-time in Detroit with the Titans earning a 66-65 win in Calihan Hall last year.

GAME 14 RECAP - @OAKLAND 86, CSU 68 (1/2/2016)
• CSU dropped its Horizon League opener, 86-68, at Oakland on Saturday afternoon.
• The Vikings were led by Rob Edwards who scored 15 points and made three steals.
Vinny Zollo tallied 10 points and eight rebounds, while Kenny Carpenter scored 13 points off the bench.
Jibri Blount added six points and eight rebounds and Aaron Scales made all three of his field goals for six points. • The Vikings received 30 points from their bench.

TWINBILL TIME:
• Despite Monday's game being on the road, it will be a doubleheader with the CSU women's team playing at Detroit at 5:00 pm.
• This is the third of nine doubleheaders for the men's and women's teams this year with seven at home and two on the road.
• Over the past seven years, CSU has notched 18 sweeps in 29 doubleheaders with the women going 23-6 and the men posting a 22-7 record in doubleheaders.

CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARDS:
Vinny Zollo is averaging 6.6 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds, ranking 11th in the Horizon League.
• He has tallied at least eight rebounds in six of the last seven games, including Saturday's 10-point, eight-rebound performance at Oakland in the Horizon League opener.
• Zollo recorded his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds vs. Kent State (Dec. 5).  • Zollo is the lone senior on this year's roster.

EDWARDS TIES CSU RECORD:
• Freshman Rob Edwards tied a CSU single game record on Tuesday night against Cedarville.
• Edwards went 5-of-5 from three-point, becoming the second player in school history to be perfect from three-point with a minimum of five attempts.
• Charlie Woods was also 5-of-5 from three-point on Feb. 20, 2010 in a win over Toledo.
• Edwards finished the game with career-highs in points (21) and rebounds (9) in the win, hitting 8-of-10 overall from the field.

HE'S A FRESHMAN:
Rob Edwards is ranked 19th in the League in scoring (11.8), while also posting 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
• He is a two-time Horizon League Freshman of the Week (Nov. 30 & Dec. 21).
• Edwards came off the bench for the first two games before starting at Rhode Island (Nov. 21) where he scored 16 points.
• He was named to all-tournament team at Cancun Challenge Mayan Division (11/24-25) after totaling 24 points in two games.

CARPENTER DISHES IT OUT:
Kenny Carpenter posted 13 points and a career-high nine assists in Tuesday's win over Cedarville.
• The nine assists were the most by a CSU player since Charlie Lee had 10 against UIC on Feb. 2, 2013.

FLANNIGAN FACTS:
Demonte Flannigan is averaging 9.9 points and 4.6 rebounds, while ranking seventh in the League in blocked shots (1.1).
• He is also 13th in the Horizon League in field goal percentage (.465) and 14th in offensive rebounds (1.7).
• Flannigan had 16 points with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks vs. Belmont (12/19), hitting the game-winning shot with 1.8 seconds left in a 67-65 win.
• He poured in 20 points with four rebounds at Maryland (11/28).
• Set career-highs in points (22) and rebounds (17) vs. Malone (11/17) with the 17 rebounds the most by a CSU player since Norris Cole grabbed 20 against Youngstown State on Feb. 12, 2011.

BLOUNT FORCE:
Jibri Blount is averaging 5.9 points and 3.3 boards, playing all 14 games off the bench.
• After starting the season just 2-of-16 from the field over the first five games, he has raised his field goal percentage to .443 (27-61).
• Blount had a career-high eight rebounds at Oakland (Jan. 2).
• He had a career-high 11 points and 7 boards at Loyola (Dec. 16).
• Blount is the son of Mel Blount, who played 14 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

FOR THREE:
• CSU has hit a three-pointer in a school-record 549 straight games.
• The Vikings have hit at least three three's in 98 straight games.
• The last time CSU failed to make a three-pointer was Feb. 21, 1998, when the Vikings were 0-for-8 in a 60-57 win over Detroit. 

WATERS EARNS CAREER WIN #350:
• Head coach Gary Waters won his 350th career game at Loyola (Dec. 16).
• Waters is 352-270 in his 20th season as a head coach.
• He is 181-135 in his 10th season as the head coach at CSU.
• Waters is the third longest tenured coach in CSU history, behind Ray Dieringer (14 years) and Homer E. Woodling (13 years).
• He is second in CSU history with 317 games coached (Dieringer - 360) and second with a .572 win percentage (Kevin Mackey - .673).

UP NEXT: 
• The Vikings host their first League game of the season on Thursday (Jan. 7) when CSU welcomes Green Bay to the Wolstein Center for a 7:30 pm contest.
• The game will be broadcast live on Time Warner SportsChannel.
• It will also be a true doubleheader with the CSU women hosting Green Bay at 5:30 pm.
