DAYTON, Ohio – Cleveland State (11-22) fell in the first round of the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament by top-seed and regular-season champion, Wright State (21-11), 90-61 on Wednesday evening.
Preist Ryan led the scoring for a second straight tournament game with 15 points.
Jaidon Lipscomb was next with 13 points. Ryan pulled down seven rebounds to lead the way on the glass.
The Vikings lone lead was 3-2, and trailed by as many as eight, 16-8, with 10:52 showing on the clock. Wright State led 26-19 when Cleveland State ran off seven straight points, with the final five coming from Lipscomb, tying the game at 26-26 with 3:34 to play in the half.
The Raiders went on to lead 37-32 at halftime despite Ryan scoring nine points.
The second half saw Wright State outscore the Green and White 53-29, defeating the Vikings by a final score of 90-61. This concludes the first season for head coach
Rob Summers.
Lipscomb connected on his 96th three-pointer, tying the single-season record with 9:31 left in regulation. The record had been held since the 2014-15 season.
