BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Cleveland State women's tennis team was able to pick up its second title of the weekend Sunday, as Ellen Folkers captured the Singles C Flight championship at the UB Fall Invitational.

"Overall this was a great weekend for us, we fought hard on the court throughout the weekend and were rewarded with another title today," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Unfortunately, Ellen had to play her own teammate in her championship match, which is always hard to do, but they battled it out and Ellen was able to come away victorious."

Folkers, who posted a perfect 3-0 singles record this weekend, claimed the C Flight championship with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over her own teammate, Aleksandra Golawska in the final match. Folkers now has a team-best 8-1 singles record this fall.

Victoria Bensimon and Princess Gbadamosi also picked up singles wins on Sunday, earning consolation victories in the A Flight and B Flight, respectively. Bensimon earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Ashley Ta of Niagara, while Gbadamosi posted a 6-2, 7-6 (3) victory over Brooke Briseno of Niagara.

"I was happy for Victoria and Princess to also pick up wins today, they both played great matches and have been consistently improving their game. Victoria was hungry to win today, and she was hitting a pretty clean ball which helped her to the win. Princess was battling herself throughout the match, but when she stuck to her game plan, she was rewarded and she found success," Etzkin said.

Next up for the Vikings will be the ITA Midwest Regional, taking place in Champaign, Ill. from Thursday, Oct. 16 through Monday, Oct. 20. CSU will find out who earns a spot in the regional during the first part of the week.
