Ypsilanti, MI-Seven Vikings' wrestlers earned multiple wins, with five placing in the top eight and two in the top three, as the Cleveland State program had a solid showing at the Eastern Michigan Open this Saturday.

Redshirt sophomore Matt Donohoe led all Vikings on the day with a second place showing in the 157 lb. Open Division with a 3-1 record. He was joined in the top three for CSU by freshman Riley Shaw, who placed third in the 285 lb. Freshman/sophomore division in his first career collegiate Open, going 4-1. Shaw's four wins were also tied for a team high on the day.

CSU redshirt freshman Michael Carlone was also able to put on a strong showing for the Vikings, picking up a sixth place finish in the 133 lb. Open Division. Carlone ended the day with a 3-2 record.

Two other freshmen had solid top-eight finishes for Cleveland State, in R.J. LaBeef in the Freshman/sophomore 141 lb. division, and Amon Willis in the 285 lb. Freshman/sophomore division. LaBeef was able to tie Riley Shaw for the team lead with four wins on the day going 4-3, with Willis finishing with a 3-3 record.

Other Vikings who were able to pick up wins on the day included Ben Willeford (125 lb. Open), Chas Busz (133 lb. Freshman/sophomore), Daniel King (141 lb. Freshman/sophomore division), Michael Monson Jr. (157 lb. Open), Corey Carlo (165 lb. Open), and Corbin Boone (184 lb. Open).

The Vikings will be back in action next week as the team will head to Northern Illinois to take on Northern Illinois, South Dakota St., Tiffin, and Indiana next Saturday.
