Catrine Bjerrehus and
Maria Lazaris earned two victories on Friday, earning a spot in the third round of the main doubles draw.
"For Catrine and Maria to make it to the round of 16 in the doubles draw is huge for us, they have been working very hard throughout the fall season and they are ready to compete," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "They had two hard fought victories today, and they need to continue to have the focus and energy out on the court that they have had throughout the past two days."
Bjerrehus and Lazaris earned an 8-6 victory over a team from Eastern Michigan in the first round of the doubles draw Friday afternoon, and then followed that up with an 8-6 victory over a duo from Notre Dame in the second round.
