CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Vikings lost only one game in the entire match to sweep St. Francis (PA) 7-0 on Saturday afternoon. CSU is now 5-2 on the season.
Four of the five singles matches that were completed went 6-0, 6-0. Freshmen Melissa Holzinger defeated Roxy Ionescu 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Sanda Bjelan won 6-0, 6-0 over Danielle Gauthier at No. 3 singles. Sophomores Charlotte Gibbons and Denisa Muntean also went 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Jackie Tabb defeated Eva Keresztes 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
"We went to work today, giving up one game in the entire match," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "St. Francis had some unfortunate injuries, but we took care of business to pick up another win."
The Vikings travel to Dayton on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3:00 p.m.
