CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State won every match of the day in a victory over Robert Morris on Sunday morning. The win is CSU's sixth straight and improves the team to a 7-2 record.
Senior Morgan Ungerott claimed the career doubles record of 77 victories, held by former doubles partner Sarah Galon. Ungerott paired with sophomore Charlotte Gibbons to defeat Kali Delorie and Libby Shaw, 8-0.
CSU gave up only three games during the entire match. Freshman Sanda Bjelan and Gibbons each won 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively. Bjelan has won seven consecutive singles matches.
Seniors Jenn Myers won 6-1, 6-0 over Kali Delorie at No. 1 singles, while sophomore Denisa Muntean defeated Gwen Dalphon, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Senior Morgan Ungerott won her No. 6 singles match by default.
"For the second match this season we have play a short-handed team," head coach Brian Etzkin said. " We will take the win any way we can. It was great to see Morgan take the doubles record today and Jenn did a great job leading the team at No. 1 singles."
The Vikings travel to Ohio State on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 8:00 p.m.
