CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State swept the doubles point and won all six singles matches in straight sets in a 7-0 win over St. Bonaventure Sunday at River Oaks Racquet Club. The Vikings are now 3-4 on the season.

Juniors Jenn Myers and Christine Vogelgesang got CSU started with a quick 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles over St. Bonaventure's Vanesssa Close and Eilleen Horgan. Cleveland State would clinch the doubles point with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles and an 8-6 win in the second doubles spot.

Sophomore Kristin Chamberlain (8-5) and Vogelgesang (4-10) led CSU with routs in singles play. Chamberlain won 6-0, 6-0 over Close at No. 6 singles and Vogelgesang gave the Vikings a 3-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.

Myers (3-3) won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles to clinch the Cleveland State victory.

"We're looking a lot better in doubles," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "We won the doubles point and then the second half of our lineup cruised to give us the win early."

Galon (13-6) defeated Anna Perevenzetseva in the top singles spot, 6-4, 7-6 (4) and CSU's two freshmen, Denisa Muntean (7-6) and Charlotte Gibbons (9-6), won in the second and third spots, respectively.

"Today was a good learning experience for our freshmen," Etzkin said. "They are playing against some tough competition and are being very competitive."

CSU was set to play Buffalo at 3:00 p.m. Sunday but the match was cancelled due to inclement weather in New York.

The Vikings will head to Fort Wayne, Ind. to take on IPFW on Friday, Feb. 9 at 1:00 p.m. They will also play IUPUI in Fort Wayne at 1:00 p.m. the next day.
