CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's tennis team hosted its final match inside the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion Sunday, picking up a 7-0 victory over IU Indy.
Cleveland State was able to earn the early doubles point, following wins from
Ella Franz/
Melliz Petkova Mustafa (6-2) and
Anna Mancino/
Leah Geisz (6-3) at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, respectively.
Jenna Redmile quickly put the second point on the board for the Vikings then, earning a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles. With her win on Sunday, Redmile remained perfect in #HLTennis singles matches this spring.
Laura Tapia followed with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 spot, before Franz clinched the match on senior day with a 6-4, 7-6(2) win at the top of the lineup.
Geisz then added to the CSU point total with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles, before Petkova Mustafa (3-6, 7-5, 1-0(8)) and Mancino (6-3, 6-7(3), 6-3)) closed out the 7-0 sweep for Cleveland State.
The Vikings will close out regular season play at Oakland next weekend.
