Cleveland State Falls At Butler, 78-57

INDIANAPOLIS - Cleveland State shot just 29.7 percent (19-64) from the field and Butler scored 46 points in the paint as the Bulldogs cruised to a 78-57 victory in the Fox Sports Horizon League Game of the Week on Saturday afternoon in Hinkle Fieldhouse. Maria Rickards led the Vikings with a season-high 16 points.

Butler (10-11, 4-6 HL) connected on 45.0 percent (27-60) of its shots and turned 18 CSU turnovers into 21 points.

The Bulldogs led 40-30 at the half and increased to lead to as much as 27 late in the second stanza.

Nicole Thomas had a career-high 13 rebounds for the Vikings.

Cortney Urquhart scored a game-high 18 points for the Bulldogs, while Ashley Brenden and Jackie Closser added 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Cleveland State (3-18, 2-8 HL) returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 10 when the Vikings host Loyola at 7:00 p.m. in the Wolstein Center.
