Box Score

CLEVELAND - On a night when both teams shot 30 percent from the floor, Butler was able to knock down eight three-pointers en route to a 60-51 decision over Cleveland State on Thursday night in the Wolstein Center. Erin Martin tallied 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for her third triple-double of the season.

Tied at 21-21 at the half, the teams remained deadlocked for the first 8:30 of the second stanza (35-35) before the Bulldogs used an 11-2 run to take a commanding nine point lead with just under seven minutes remaining. Butler (13-13, 7-8 HL) converted 16 of its 18 free throws (85.7 percent) for the game to keep the Vikings (3-23, 2-13 HL) at bay.

"We just couldn't hit any shots tonight," CSU head coach Kate Peterson said. "We're working really hard, especially on the defensive end, but just can't get in a rhythm offensively. I'm proud of the fact that we continue to battle for 40 minutes."

Omega Harrington added eight points for CSU, while Nicole Thomas pulled down 10 boards.

Ellen Hamilton paced Butler with 16 points. Cortney Urquhart added 13 rebounds and a career-best 16 rebounds for her third double-double, nearly recording a triple-double with seven steals.

Cleveland State closes out the regular season at home against Wright State on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 3:00 p.m. Seniors Jill Barnbrook, Maria Rickards, Christina Shrake and Mandy Sichting will be honored in a ceremony prior to the game.
