MUNCIE, Ind. – The Cleveland State golf team played 36 holes on the first day of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational hosted by Ball State Saturday, sitting in 14
th place as a team.
Individually, two Vikings currently sit in the top-50, as
Troy Chapman is T-21 and
Gavin Leen is T-41.
Chapman posted rounds of 72-71 to finish the day at three-over par, while Leen recorded rounds of 75-70 to sit at five-over par. Chapman combined for eight birdies during the first two rounds along with an eagle on the par-four fifth hole during his second round of play.
Leen's second round 70 marked an even-par round after recording three birdies through the 18 holes.
Dominik Cosic sits T-66 (75-73), while
Cameron Stafford is currently T-77 (77-73) playing as an individual.
Also competing for the Vikings are
Ryan Dinan (T90, 81-73) and
Dillon Pendergast (T93, 78-78).
As a team, the Vikings combined for 30 birdies through the two rounds, including eight from Chapman and seven from Dinan.
Cleveland State will be back on the course tomorrow for the final 18 holes of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.
