CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (2-3-2, 1-1-1) drew with Green Bay (2-5-2, 1-1-1) 1-1 on Saturday afternoon, extending its home unbeaten streak to three.
The Phoenix netted the lone goal of the first half in the sixth minute, following a missed clearance on the backline.
Cleveland State nearly equalized in the 62nd minute as
Uzman Ramees shot from 35-yards out went off the crossbar. However, three minutes later, the Green and White evened the game as
Domenic Ruggiero finished off a cross from
Tom Mertz after
Bora Eldem played a perfect through ball.
The Vikings doubled up the visitors in the shot count, 10-5, and favored the shots on goal, 4-3.
Ruggiero led the way with three shots including two on goal.
Ognjen Bozovic, Petrovic, and Eldem all had multiple shots.
Aleksandar Kolar finished the contest with two saves.
Cleveland State will take a break from league games to face St. Bonaventure on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
