NASHPORT, Ohio – The Cleveland State golf team opened up its 2026 fall slate Saturday, playing 36 holes at the Virtues Intercollegiate.

Sophomore transfer Troy Chapman leads the Vikings sitting T-42, while Dillon Pendergast and Ryan Dinan are both T-53 after the first day of action. Gavin Leen and Dominik Cosic both sit T-62, while Jackson Sommer is currently T-77 and Cameron Stafford sits T-81.

Chapman and Pendergast had a team-best six combined birdies on the day, including five from Pendergast during the second round. Ryan Dinan finished with five total birdies on the day, while Stafford and Sommer both notched eagles – Stafford on the par-five 10^th and Sommer on the par-five 16^th.

Stafford and Sommer were both making their collegiate debuts, while Chapman was making his Cleveland State debut after transferring prior to the season.

Cleveland State combined for 27 birdies and two eagles during the opening day of play at the Virtues Intercollegiate.

The Vikings will play 18 holes tomorrow to conclude action in the season-opening Virtues Intercollegiate.
