CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State department of athletics posted another strong semester in the classroom during Spring 2026, as Viking student-athletes combined for a 3.59 semester grade point average along with posting a 3.56 cumulative GPA to close out the 2025-26 academic year.
This marks the 15
th straight semester that the Vikings have recorded a 3.30+ cumulative GPA dating back to the 2018-19 academic year.

Kelsie Gory Harkey said. "Cleveland State athletics has set a standard of excellence in academics, and to see our student-athletes achieve at such a high level is outstanding. Not only are we celebrating our success in the classroom this semester, but also all of the spring and summer graduates, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for them."
For the women's teams, all eight programs recorded semester GPA's of 3.65 or better, including women's tennis who posted a 3.87 and cross country who notched a 3.81. Women's soccer (3.78), women's fencing (3.75) and volleyball (3.73) were close behind.
On the men's side, three teams finished with a 3.50 semester GPA or better, led by the golf team with a 3.85 spring semester GPA. Both lacrosse and men's soccer notched semester GPA's of 3.50.
Through the end of the 2025-26 academic year, all 16 programs have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better.
Individually, 148 student-athletes were named to the Dean's List, while 44 earned President's List recognition, and 44 posted perfect 4.0's.
Last month, more than 50 student-athletes participated in Cleveland State's commencement ceremonies, including 42 student-athletes who graduated with honors.
