CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team got back in the win column Saturday, picking up a 73-56 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne.

The Game
After trailing by two at the halftime break at 34-32, a
Macey Fegan jumper opened the scoring during the third quarter, while an
Izabella Zingaro and-one a few plays later put the Vikings up by two at 38-36.
The Vikings were then able to extend their lead to 42-37 following a pair of 2-for-2 free throw efforts from Zingaro and
Jada Leonard, while a
Colbi Maples three-pointer midway through the frame gave Cleveland State a seven-point lead at 45-38.
The two teams then traded baskets over the next few minutes, until a 4-0 run from Fegan to end the quarter gave Cleveland State a 54-46 lead heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
To open the fourth quarter the two teams traded baskets once again, until back-to-back layups from Fegan and Leonard gave the Vikings their first double-digit lead of the contest at 60-50 with 6:46 left on the clock. Over the next minute plus, Cleveland State was able to extend its lead to 15 points on a Zingaro offensive rebound and put-back, while a Maples jumper at the 3:51 mark put the Vikings up by 16 at 68-52.
Although the Mastodons were able to stop the scoring run on their next possession, the Vikings responded with another Maples layup to take a 71-54 advantage with just 2:31 left to play.
The Vikings then controlled play over the final minutes of the contest, coming away with the 73-56 victory.
