SETTING THE SCENE
Cleveland State takes its five-game win streak to IU Indy on Saturday to battle the Jags at 2 p.m. inside The Jungle. The Vikings are 10-14 overall and 6-7 in Horizon League contests, while IU Indy is 6-18 overall and 2-11 in league games. 

A WIN ON SATURDAY WOULD…

MAKE IT TWO STRAIGHT FOR NESSAH
Dayan Nessah picked up his second straight Horizon League Player of the Week honor after leading Cleveland State to a Wisconsin sweep. The sophomore averaged 18.5 points, 11 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in those games.

Nessah started the week with a team-best 18 points and a game-best nine rebounds against Green Bay and followed it up with his fourth double-double of the year at Milwaukee behind 19 points and a game-best 13 rebounds. This season, he has reached double-digit points in 18 games.

GOT THAT DEEP BALL RECORD
Twice this season, Cleveland State has tied the three-ball record of 16 before breaking it with 17 made three-pointers against Oakland at home on Wednesday in Woodling Gymnasium.

The Vikings tied the mark at Purdue Fort Wayne (1/4/26) and at Green Bay (1/30/26). On Wednesday, the Green and White had just five long balls at the half before exploding with 12 in the second half.

LAST GAME OUT
The Vikings connected on a program-record 17 three-pointers, overcoming a ten-point halftime deficit to win their fifth straight game, 91-78, over Oakland inside Woodling Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Five Cleveland State players finished with double-digit points, led by Tre Beard with a game-best 24 points to go along with a game-high nine assists. Jaidon Lipscomb dropped 18 points, all coming from long range, while Nessah finished with his second straight double-double and fifth of the year after scoring 15 points and adding ten rebounds. Off the bench, Foster Wonders and Josiah Harris each had 12 points. 

The Vikings trailed 67-65 at the 7:51 mark of the second half when a Nessah jumper sparked a 15-0 run to reclaim an 80-67 advantage with 3:49 to go. A Nessah dunk with 1:12 showing gave the Green and White its largest lead of the game, 87-71, finishing in a 91-78 home victory.

#THROWBACK TO FIRST MEETING
The first-ever Coach Summers league win came at home against IU Indy on December 29 by a score of 99-86. Chevalier Emery led the way with 29 points on 8-of-13 shooting and was 12-of-14 from the line. Nessah added 23 points, Lipscomb had 15, Beard chipped in 14, and Harris had 11.

Cleveland State spent 37:39 of the game in the lead with its biggest run of nine at the 12:29 mark of the first half.

ABOUT THE JAGS
IU Indy has lost consecutive games and holds an overall record of 6-18 and a 2-11 mark in league contests. Four of their six wins have come at home. The Jags are scoring a league-best 84.7 points per game with a turnover margin of 4.5 per game.

Kyler D'Augustino has topped 20-or-more points in nine of the last ten games and leads the league in scoring with 21.2 points per game. Jaxon Edwards tops the team in rebounds with 5.4, and Finley Woodward has 137 assists.

OVER/UNDER FOR THE WIN
The Vikings are 7-0 this season when shooting better than 50 percent from the field, eclipsing the mark in each of the four of the last five games.

LEADING THE WAY FOR THE VIKINGS

Cleveland State has four double-digit scorers, led by Dayan Nessah with 15.7 points per game on 54.3 percent shooting. Tre Beard is close behind with 14.3 points, followed by Chevalier Emery at 12.2 points and Jaidon Lipscomb with 11.5 points per game.

Nessah has pulled down 156 total boards to top the squad, while Nessah has grabbed 41 offensive boards. Beard has dished out 71 assists.

LETHAL DUO FROM LONG RANGE
Jaidon Lipscomb and Tre Beard are the top two players in three-point field goal percentage. Beard is shooting 45.0 percent from beyond the arc, while Lipscomb is just behind him at 42.7 percent shooting from three-point range 

In the NCAA, Beard is sixth in three-point percentage, and Lipscomb is 22nd.

LETTING IT FLY FROM DEEP
Cleveland State has reached double digits in three-pointers in 16 of its 24 games this season. The top three marks this season are 17 against Oakland and 16 twice on the road at Green Bay and Purdue Fort Wayne.

NESSAH NAILING IT
Nessah is seventh in the league, averaging 15.7 points per game, and is fifth in the league with 6.8 rebounds per contest. The sophomore ranks 15th in the league in free-throw percentage at 75 percent.

BREAKING DOWN BEARD
Beard averages 14.3 points per game, which is 16th in the league, and averages 3.3 assists per game, which is 15th in the Horizon League. He is second in free-throw percentage at 87 percent and tops in three-point percentage at 45 percent.

PROTECTING THE PAINT
Pierre-Louis has 29 blocks this season, averaging 1.4 per game, which ranks fourth in the league.

WISCONSIN SWEEP
Cleveland State has been making the trip to Wisconsin for a pair of games for nearly 30 years, completing the sweep for just the fourth time, with the last coming under Coach Gates in 2021-22.
