INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team returned to action Wednesday evening, dropping a 78-70 contest at IU Indy.

The Game
After trailing by five points at the halftime break, the Vikings were able to quickly chip away at the IU Indy lead over the opening minutes of the third quarter, as a
Sarah Hurley three-pointer closed the gap to just one point, while a
Colbi Maples layup gave the Vikings a 34-33 edge just over two minutes into the frame.
The two teams would then trade baskets over the next few possessions, until another Maples layup followed by a
Paula Pique basket gave CSU a three-point lead at 43-40. After once again trading baskets over the next few minutes, IU Indy closed the quarter on a 10-2 run, regaining a 56-49 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
Over the first part of the fourth quarter the Vikings trimmed the Jaguar lead down to two points at 60-58 following an
Ella Van Weelden three-pointer and another Maples basket, but IU Indy responded with back-to-back baskets to extend its lead once again. The Jaguars were then able to control play throughout the remainder of the contest, pulling away with the 78-70 victory.
