RALEIGH, N.C. – The Cleveland State volleyball team opened play at the Wolfpack Invitational Friday, dropping a 3-1 decision to Coastal Carolina.
The Vikings will continue play at the three-day tournament tomorrow, facing the host NC State at 5:00 p.m.
Freshman
Bryn VanVleet paced the Viking offense with 22 kills on the day – her first 20-kill match of the season – while
Laken Voss added 10 kills.
Isabella Gibbons recorded her second double-double of the season against Coastal Carolina, finishing with 34 assists and 10 digs on the day.
Defensively, the Vikings were led by libero
Vayda Delventhal who posted 24 digs for her first 20-dig match of the year. In addition, Voss added nine digs and
Reilly Wadden tallied eight.
JeriLynn Koehler and
Julia Jozefov both recorded three blocks on the day, while
Matilda Dahlstrom and Gibbons both posted two.
