Warren, OH-The Cleveland State women's golf team wrapped up play in the first round of the YSU Spring Invitational at Avalon Lakes Golf Club. The Vikings had four student-athletes competing in the event as individuals. Cold temperatures and heavy rain made it a difficult day for scoring.
Kaylin Kline had the low round of the day for CSU finishing at 10-over 82. Kline sits in a tie for 27th place in the standings. Youngstown State's Maddi Shoults leads the field at 3-under and is the only player to break par in the opening round.
Brynna Mardis is close behind in 32
nd place after a first-round 83 at 11-over par.
Abby Blackburn is tied for 33
rd after a 13-over 85.
Mandie Ruminski is tied for 40
th place at 15-over par 87.
The second and final round of the tournament will be played tomorrow morning with tee times off no. 1 and no. 10 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the day.
