CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team picked up a win in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League Barbasol Tournament Thursday, earning a 92-61 victory over Detroit Mercy. With the win, the Vikings are now 24-8 overall this season and earned a spot in the Horizon League Semifinals on Monday, March 10.

The Game
After a back-and-forth start to the opening quarter, the Vikings used a 7-0 run late in the frame to gain a 17-6 advantage, before a
Destiny Leo three-pointer in the closing seconds put the Vikings up 20-8 after the first 10 minutes of play.
Cleveland State was able to hold its advantage throughout the second quarter then, taking a 39-21 lead into the halftime break.

Jordana Reisma layup opened the scoring for the Vikings in the third quarter, extending Cleveland State's lead to 20-points at 41-21 just over 30 seconds into the frame. The Vikings were able to hold their sizeable lead over the next few minutes, while a 7-0 run extended the advantage to 30 points at 66-36 following a
Mickayla Perdue and-one.
Cleveland State was able to take a 68-39 lead into the fourth and final quarter, and held off an early Detroit Mercy run, regaining a 78-49 lead following back-to-back
Paulina Hernandez baskets midway through the frame.
The Vikings then went on to control play throughout the rest of the quarter, earning the 92-61 victory in the Horizon League Quarterfinals.
