INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team continued play in the Horizon League Barbasol Basketball Championships Monday, dropping an 83-65 decision to Purdue Fort Wayne in the semifinals.

The Game
Destiny Leo opened the scoring for the Vikings during the contest, sinking a three-pointer just over one minute into the contest, before Purdue Fort Wayne responded with a 14-2 run, gaining a 10-point lead at 15-5 midway through the opening quarter. Another Leo three-pointer stopped the PFW scoring run, and brought the Vikings back within seven points, before ending the first frame with the score at 19-12 Mastodons.
PFW opened the second quarter with a three-pointer to extend its lead back to double-digits, before the Mastodons pulled away with a 13-point lead at the halftime break at 48-35.
Cleveland State opened the third quarter on a 6-3 run, closing the game to 51-41 on a
Mickayla Perdue jumper with 6:29 left on the clock. The Mastodons were then able to extend their lead once again throughout the closing minutes of the frame, taking a 60-48 lead into the final 10 minutes of action.
Purdue Fort Wayne used an 11-5 run over the first few minutes of the fourth quarter to take control of the game then, regaining a sizeable advantage at 71-53. The Mastodons then held the momentum throughout the final minutes of the contest, pulling away with the 83-65 victory.
